Beyond Sober

1:1 coaching for the long game of life beyond alcohol

For people six months sober (or more) who want more than just staying sober - you want a life that actually fits.

You’ve changed, but life hasn’t caught up.

Still sober. Still becoming.
You’re in the right place.

Beyond Sober exists to support the part most people never talk about: the in-between stage of long-term sobriety.

The part where early clarity has settled and you’re left with a new version of yourself — steady, functional, but not quite at home. You don’t need sobriety 101 anymore.
You need a space where not drinking isn’t the headline — it’s simply understood.

Why Beyond Sober is different

  • A woman with dark hair, wearing a black blazer, is being covered by a hand, which is shielding her eyes. She is outdoors on a sports field during sunset, with trees in the background.

We begin where most sobriety support ends

This is trauma-responsive coaching for people in long-term sobriety who want a life that matches the changes they’ve made.

You’ve done the hard bit. The early wins are behind you. Here comes the deeper work: the identity shifts, the emotional echoes, the parts of yourself you haven’t seen in years.

You’re no longer who you were, but not yet who you’re becoming.
This middle ground can feel exposing — like meeting yourself without the old armour.

Together, we make sense of this phase and build what comes next.

  • View from motorcycle rider inside a tunnel, showing the motorcycle's side mirror and rider's shoulder in a yellow jacket, with bright light at the tunnel's end.

Coaching with someone who gets it

Not because I have all the answers, but because I understand the questions - and I’ve lived them.

I know what it’s like to be sober and suddenly feel fourteen again.

To look “fine” on the outside while everything inside is shifting.

To wonder why life feels flatter, sharper, or stranger once alcohol is gone.

What we build here is steadiness — steadiness that holds what you’ve worked so hard for, anchors you when life inevitably wobbles, and helps you to grow into what’s next.

Support that evolves with you - wherever you are in your becoming.

  • A young girl in a pink dress holding pink and white balloons outdoors on a grassy field with trees and a blue sky with clouds in the background.

    Support for a self-return

You’re not here to “improve” or become a shinier version of yourself; you’re here to become more you.

It’s about reconnecting with the parts of you that got lost along the way — beneath the noise, the numbing, and the stories you learned to carry.

    Long-term sobriety isn’t a holding pattern.

It’s the beginning of living in a way that’s really you. ‍

You don’t need to perform here . Come exactly as you are.

This is the place for full-spectrum humans - moody, bright, complicated, real.

    You’re welcome here.

Meet Jo

I’m Jo - accredited coach, corporate HR veteran, twin mum, ex-pro drinker who knows this territory from the inside.

Alcohol was woven through my life from my teens. It was how I coped, connected, relaxed and pushed through.

My rock bottom was undramatic - more of a slow kind of sinking in my own life.

I stopped drinking at 48, tired of the chaos, the shame, and the broken promises to myself.

Early sobriety was like stepping into a sharp light. I felt everything I’d pushed away: grief, rage, fear, the old narratives I’d outgrown but hadn’t yet challenged.

That undoing became the doorway to something better

Now I work with people who’ve already done the hard part of stopping and want more than just "not drinking."

People who know sobriety was the beginning, not the end — and want support for what comes after.
